Amber’s love of colour and design led her straight from school into the design industry where she’s been producing creative branding and print designs for the past 15 years.

In 2006, Amber launched Onyx Design, which quickly grew to become an influential design studio. This comes as little surprise to her clients, who know Amber to be an enthusiastic and hardworking designer who delivers the best possible design results on budget and on time.

Amber has two young children, Cruz and Zaria, to partner Jack Perry (aka Krazy Jack!) and two adult stepchildren, Sarah-Lee and Caleb. When she’s not spending time with her family or managing Onyx Design’s busy studio, you’ll often find Amber indulging in her other passion – painting.

This talented artist held her first solo art exhibition at just 26 years of age and her favourite pastime is scouring auction houses and websites for the next New Zealand painting or sculpture to grace her walls. Of course, like all art-lovers her only complaint is that her budget doesn’t always match the artwork she desires!

Catherine Wensor – Graphic Designer
Catherine joined Onyx Design in 2010 and quickly made an impression with her positive, friendly approach and exceptional design work.

She studied graphic design at Massey University and landed her first design job with APN Educational Media in Wellington. Here, she developed her design skills for two years before heading away on her big OE.

While living in London, Catherine gained international experience with a high profile advertising and media company, and also kept herself busy with a number of freelance advertising, illustration and website design projects.

Now back in her hometown of Tauranga, Catherine’s passion for graphic design, love of the arts, and easygoing nature make her the perfect fit for Onyx Design and she hasn’t looked back since.
